NEW PUPS & FAQs

Requirements

We are excited you are thinking about having your dog(s) come stay with us for the day on Vashon Island. In order for all dogs to have the safest and most enjoyable time, we do have requirements for ALL our dogs staying with us for any period of time.

  • All new dogs will be required to have a trail visit to determine whether Turning Points Dog Ranch is the right fit for them

  • All vaccinations must be up to date and a copy of vaccinations must be submitted for approval before joining the Ranch.

  • Fecal/Giardia exam is required EVERY three months.

  • Turning Points Dog Ranch Agreement and Liability Release form reviewed, signed and submitted before attending

 

All Dogs Must Be

  • Well socialized

  • Be spayed or neutered after six months of age

  • Listen well and respond to their name

  • Wearing a quick release collar with name tag. NO prongs, chains, embellishments or air tags.

All clients/dogs will need to fill out the Intake Form and meet the owner first, whether at the ranch or in your home before being accepted into our program.

FAQs

    COLLAR

    Please send your dog to camp wearing a collar with a name tag, and a snap buckle. Collars should NOT have any of the following: prongs, chains, embellishments, or AIR TAGS.

    CLOTHING OPTIONS

    You may pack a coat or sweater for colder weather. Please be sure that your dog can move freely in it.

    Let Us Know

    Please inform us of any pre existing issues E.G: previous injuries, occasional limps, bumps, lumps, cuts, scrapes, or scars etc.

    The Nuances that make your dog special

    Please also inform us about any other special nuances about your dog E.G: Neck, head, or collar shy. Fears E.G: loud noises, power tools, children etc. Anything else you think that we should know.

  • Dogs basking in the sun

    It's been a long day

    Be aware that your dogs may come home quite tired from playing. It is not uncommon for dogs to sleep a lot, and/or have increased or decreased appetite or thirst for a day or so after coming home from the Ranch.
